Our work

Most of our work with clients across the world is completed under an NDA due to the importance of protecting IP, the level of confidentiality in product / service development due to a high level of competitiveness in the market and, crucially, the often sensitive nature of thinking, discussions and strategies internally.

We therefore respect this requirement for confidentiality in the publication of any case studies but are happy to talk more broadly about our work in our discussions with you.

OKRs & agile working:

globally distributed Health-tech firm

Operating in the fast growing health-tech sector, this innovative company saw significant growth (30 - 190 employees) within 18-months due to rising demand for their cutting edge products.

With people located in 12 countries across the world, the team started to experience challenges with:

  • Protecting and growing their culture

  • Sustaining performance and pace of delivery

  • Ensuring they remained innovative and not solely operational

In helping the team to overcome these risks, we supported the design, sell-in, training and launch of a company wide OKR and agile working process over a six month period.

With a step change in transparency, ownership, collaboration and leadership, the business saw a major improvements in customer satisfaction, pace of delivery, operating margin and their new product pipeline, while giving their people the autonomy and support to maximise performance.

Business transformation programme & leadership mentoring:

established logistics business

This long-established distribution and logistics business, employing over 750 people across the UK and Europe, recognised a need to diversify their offer to navigate the accelerating change in consumer behaviour towards online / direct delivered.

Holding over 40,000 SKUs and distributing over 3 million items per week to B2B customers, a strategy to develop a digital first, D2C (direct to consumer) offering was established.

Representing a significant change to the business, and a risky period of transformation and capital investment, the multi-strand strategy would see major investments into new / enhanced infrastructure and fleet, new ERP, WMS and eCommerce technology and the reskilling of a large proportion of their loyal team. Additionally, a major culture change initiative was required to put the end consumer at the core of the business.

Due to our extensive experience in successfully leading major change / transformation programmes in businesses, both internally and in a consulting capacity, this firm engaged us to provide mentoring support to the internal programme management team while adopting lead roles in key strategic initiatives where internal resource / skill sets were stretched.

Leadership & human skills:

international business consultancy

Employing over 200 specialist consultants and operating in over 40 countries, this business and technical consultancy had entered a volatile period with stagnating sales growth and reduced operating margins.

After an initial process of diagnosis and assessment, it was established that a key root cause of this stagnation was a decline in customer experience and, subsequently, a lack of upsell / cross-sell and referrals. A key driver for this was the lack of deep relationships and trust being secured with their customer base.

Therefore, along with other key strategic initiatives, we developed and rolled out a company wide programme of training and development that focused on leadership and human / soft skills, notably relationships, building credibility, influencing skills and collaborative problem solving.

After three years of continued and targeted focus and support, the founder of this business now attributes their 40% (and counting) growth in revenue and profit to a major improvement in customer experience.

Service proposition and operating model enhancement:

scaling eCommerce firm

This significantly backed European focused eCommerce firm had built high levels of revenue and volume by capitalising on the growing trend in independent eCommerce.

However, the path to profitability was unclear with significant capital funds invested in infrastructure, technology and talent.

Over a two year period, we worked both in a board advisory capacity and in support of operations focused transformation programmes (which is one of our main expertise) to help focus their service proposition and ensure the end to end operating model was designed to deliver the required levels of customer experience, safety, engagement and efficiency.

This support has helped the firm to achieve profitability two years ahead of shareholder expectation and has provided the blueprint for sustained and profitable growth as they expand into the US.
